Overview
The LRS-350-36 is a Mean Well LRS-350 series switch-mode power supply, taking 90-264 V AC (or 240-370 V DC) and delivering 36 V DC at up to 9.7 A, 349.2 W - a genuine third-party unit, not a Tiny Controls design.
This catalogue already carries the S-350-36, a near-identical 36 V, 10 A, 350 W switch-mode supply; the LRS-350-36 is effectively a Mean Well-branded alternative at almost the same rating, 0.3 A lower on rated current. Choosing between them comes down to brand preference or stock availability rather than any real difference in what they deliver. The output voltage is adjustable via an onboard trimmer, roughly 32.4-39.6 V, for fine-tuning against a drive's actual input tolerance.
Overload trips at 110-140% of rated output power; on this model, an overload, over-voltage or over-temperature fault puts the supply into hiccup mode, which retries and recovers automatically once the fault clears - no manual reset needed. A thermally-controlled fan turns on around 50 °C case temperature and off around 40 °C, in a compact 215 x 115 x 30 mm, 0.76 kg case.
As with any stepper-drive supply, size current to the combined peak draw of every axis starting together, not the running average - a stepper drive's current spikes hard during acceleration.
