Stepper drive, 3 phase 24~50VDC, 1.4~8A.

Three-phase stepper drive, 24-50 V DC input, output current 1.4-8 A.

Supply voltage
24 - 50 V DC
Output current
1.4 - 8 A

Overview

The DW3580 is a three-phase stepper drive, taking 24-50 V DC and delivering 1.4-8 A of output current.

A three-phase stepper motor and drive pairing - such as this drive with this catalogue's M3576T015-8 - runs a finer step angle than the more common two-phase arrangement for the same physical motor size, at the cost of needing a three-phase-specific drive rather than the wider range of two-phase drives elsewhere in this catalogue. The two aren't interchangeable: a three-phase motor needs a three-phase drive, and vice versa.

24-50 V covers the input range for smaller three-phase motors like the M3576T015-8, without the extra voltage headroom a longer or more heavily loaded axis might want. Output current from 1.4 A to 8 A covers that motor's 3 A rating with headroom to spare.

For the same current range at a higher input voltage, the DW3880 in this range accepts 24-100 V DC or 18-80 V AC instead.

Questions

Will this actually cover my M3576T015-8 motor's rated current with some headroom?

Yes — that motor is rated at 3A, and this drive covers 1.4-8A, so there's real headroom to spare.

Can I run a two-phase motor off this instead?

No — a three-phase motor needs a three-phase drive and vice versa. Not interchangeable.

My axis is longer or more heavily loaded — will this have enough voltage headroom?

Possibly not — this covers 24-50V, suited to smaller three-phase motors without extra voltage headroom. For more headroom at the same current range, the DW3880 accepts 24-100V DC or 18-80V AC instead.
