Overview

The M2574T013-6.35 is a NEMA 23 stepper motor with a 57mm flange, the lowest-torque motor in the 57mm-flange group in this catalogue.

It draws 2.8 A per phase and holds 1.3 Nm / 13.3 kg-cm at standstill, suited to a light axis - a small router Z axis, a light belt-driven axis, or a feeder - rather than a loaded ballscrew table. The 2.8 A rating is within a Tstep-484 (0.7-4.0 A) or Tstep-087-family drive.

Four lead wires bring out one connection per phase, fixed in series at the factory. The 6.35mm shaft diameter is called out in the model number, useful when matching a coupling without checking a separate drawing.

For more torque in the same 57mm flange and shaft class, the M2574T022-8 and M2574T030-8 step up in current and torque, keeping the same flange and shaft diameter so a mount built for one accepts the others without redesign.

Why is the shaft size an odd 6.35mm rather than a round metric number?

It's called out directly in the model number for exactly that reason — so you can match a coupling to it without checking a separate drawing. (6.35mm is the metric equivalent of a common 1/4-inch imperial shaft.)

If I need more torque later, can I reuse the same mount and coupling?
