Holding torque
2.2 Nm \ 22.43 kg-cm

Overview

The M2574T022-8 is a NEMA 23 stepper motor with a 57mm flange, sitting between the M2574T013-6.35 and M2574T030-8 in torque.

It draws 4 A per phase and holds 2.2 Nm / 22.4 kg-cm at standstill - roughly 70% more torque than the M2574T013-6.35 for a current a mid-range stepper drive still covers comfortably; a Tstep-087 or Tstep-117X range drive (1.2-7.0 A) suits it directly, where the smaller Tstep-484 (up to 4.0 A) would be running near its ceiling.

Four lead wires bring out one connection per phase, fixed in series at the factory.

This is a reasonable default for a router or engraver X/Y axis under moderate load; where the axis carries more mass or needs to hold position against gravity, the M2574T030-8 steps up further in both current and torque. Both share the M2574T013-6.35's 57mm flange and shaft class, so switching between them later doesn't mean redesigning the mount.

Questions

Where does this sit in the M2574 family?

In the middle — roughly 70% more torque than the M2574T013-6.35, for a current a mid-range stepper drive still covers comfortably.

What drive should I pair this with?

A Tstep-087 or Tstep-117X range drive (1.2-7.0A) suits it directly — the smaller Tstep-484 (up to 4.0A) would be running near its ceiling.

Is this a good default for a router or engraver X/Y axis?

Yes — a reasonable default for one under moderate load.
