T85H65-2808 NEMA-34 Bipolar Motor

NEMA 34 bipolar stepper motor, 65mm body, 2.8 A/phase, 3.33 Nm / 34.0 kg-cm holding torque, 8 leads.

Overview

The T85H65-2808 is a NEMA 34 stepper motor with a 65mm body, the shortest and lowest-torque motor in the T85H series in this catalogue, wired bipolar with eight lead wires.

It draws 2.8 A per phase (1.4 ohm, 3.9 mH) and holds 3.33 Nm / 34.0 kg-cm at standstill. That current fits comfortably inside a Tstep-117X (1.2-7.0 A) or Tstep-168X (1.2-8.0 A) drive.

Eight lead wires bring both halves of each phase winding out separately, so the motor can be wired in series for more torque at low speed or parallel for better torque at high speed - useful when the same motor might see service on more than one axis design, unlike a four-wire motor that is fixed at the factory.

For more torque in the same NEMA 34 frame at higher current, the T85H80-4208, T85H90-5504, T85H118-4208 and T85H156-6204 step up, all keeping the same NEMA 34 mounting flange.

Questions

Is this the entry point of the T85H family?

Yes — the shortest and lowest-torque motor in the series.

Can I choose how the 8 leads are wired?

Yes — series for more torque at low speed, or parallel for better torque at high speed. Useful if the same motor might see service on more than one axis design.

What drive covers this?

A Tstep-117X (1.2-7.0A) or Tstep-168X (1.2-8.0A) — 2.8A fits comfortably inside either.

If I need more torque later in the same NEMA 34 frame, what steps up?

The T85H80-4208, T85H90-5504, T85H118-4208 and T85H156-6204 — all step up in torque while keeping the same mounting flange.

What does "bipolar" mean for this motor specifically?

It's wired for bipolar operation with the 8 leads — the standard configuration this series uses, not a special variant.
