TLP-04 63V Rectifier-Filter Card
Rectifier and filter card for building a CNC power supply around your own transformer, 8000 uF at 63 V.
Overview
The TLP-04 is the rectifier and filter half of a linear power supply, supplied without a transformer so the secondary voltage and VA rating are yours to choose.
Bulk capacitance is 8000 uF from eight 1000 uF low-ESR capacitors rated at 63 V. That reservoir is what a stepper system draws on during acceleration — drives take current in bursts as each axis starts, and it is the capacitance on the card rather than the transformer that supplies those peaks without the rail sagging.
The 63 V rating suits transformer secondaries feeding drives in the 24-48 V class, which covers most small and mid-sized machines. If your drives run at 60-80 V, use the TLP-05 instead — same card, capacitors rated at 100 V.

Questions
Which card do I need, TLP-04 or TLP-05?
Both give 8000 uF of bulk capacitance. The TLP-04 is rated 63 V and suits drives in the 24-48 V class; the TLP-05 is rated 100 V for 60-80 V drives.
Why not just use an SMPS?
Either works. A linear supply built around a transformer and this card tolerates the current bursts of stepper acceleration well and is straightforward to repair, which matters on a machine expected to last.
Is a transformer included?
No. You supply the transformer, which lets you match the secondary voltage and VA rating to your machine.
