TNC-M03 : 3 Axes CNC Controller
Three-axis G-code controller with step and direction outputs and linear interpolation across X, Y and Z.
Overview
The TNC-M03 is the three-axis member of the range: the same G-code control without the rotary fourth axis, for machines that will never need one.
X, Y and Z are linearly interpolated, so the three move together along a commanded path rather than one at a time. It drives your existing stepper or servo drives through step and direction outputs, with no breakout board and no PC required at run time.
Each axis has its own maximum velocity and acceleration. On most three-axis machines the Z is lighter and quicker than the gantry, and setting them independently means the whole machine is not tuned down to its heaviest axis.
If a rotary or indexing axis is likely later, the TNC-M04 is the same controller with a configurable fourth axis — worth considering before the panel is built.

Questions
Can a fourth axis be added later?
Not to this controller. If a rotary or indexing axis is a possibility, choose the TNC-M04 instead — it is the same controller with a configurable fourth axis.
What does linear interpolation mean here?
The three axes move together along the commanded path rather than one after another, which is what allows angled and curved cuts rather than only rectangular moves.
Does it need a PC to run?
No. The controller stores and executes the program itself.
