TS-13 1.2Kw 40000RPM Water Cooled Spindle ER11 (220V)

1.2 kW water-cooled AC spindle, 15,000-40,000 rpm, ER11 collet, 62 mm dia x 190 mm, 2.6 kg.

Power
1.2 kW
Speed
15000 - 40000 rpm
Collet
ER11 Chuck

Overview

The TS-13 is a 1.2 kW water-cooled spindle for work that needs higher rpm than the 700-800 W spindles in this range can reach, while keeping the same ER11 collet.

It runs at 15,000-40,000 rpm, roughly double the top speed of the TS-19/TS-20 pair, which suits smaller-diameter cutters run at higher surface speed. The body is 62 mm in diameter and 190 mm long, weighing 2.6 kg.

Power is 1.2 kW, drawn from a 220 V three-phase supply at 5 A through a variable frequency drive; the VFD's output frequency sets the running speed within the rated range.

Water cooling is required at this speed and power - a closed coolant loop with a radiator or chiller keeps the bearings and winding within their working temperature at sustained high rpm, which an air-cooled body of this size could not manage.

For 220 V routing work at the more common 10,000-24,000 rpm range, the TS-19 (water-cooled) and TS-20 (air-cooled) cover the same 800 W class.

Supplied by Tiny Controls in India.

Questions

Can I skip the coolant loop and run this air-cooled instead?

No — water cooling is required at this speed and power. A closed loop with a radiator or chiller is needed to keep the bearings and winding within their working temperature at sustained high rpm; an air-cooled body of this size couldn't manage that.

What's the actual reason to pick this over the TS-19 or TS-20?

Speed — this runs 15,000-40,000 rpm, roughly double the top end of the TS-19/TS-20 pair, suited to smaller-diameter cutters run at higher surface speed. For the more common 10,000-24,000 rpm range in the same 800 W class, the TS-19 (water-cooled) or TS-20 (air-cooled) cover that instead.

What collet does it take?

ER11.

What does it need to run — supply and VFD?

1.2 kW from a 220 V three-phase supply at 5 A, through a variable frequency drive.
