TS-39 3.2KW Spindle Motor ER20 (380V) For Stone

3.2 kW three-phase spindle motor for stone working, ER20 collet, 10000-24000 rpm, 100 mm diameter.

Power
3.2 kW
Speed
10000 - 24000 rpm
Collet
ER20

Overview

The TS-39 is a 3.2 kW spindle motor for stone work, sized for machines that cannot carry the weight of a larger spindle.

At 6.8 kg it is a fraction of the mass of the 6.5 kW TS-61, which matters directly to the Z axis and the gantry that has to accelerate it. The body is 100 mm in diameter and 260 mm long.

It runs at 10000-24000 rpm - a higher range than the larger spindle - and takes tooling through an ER20 collet. The higher speed suits smaller-diameter tooling, which is the usual pairing: less power, smaller cutters, higher rpm to keep surface speed up.

A 380 V three-phase supply is required, driven through a variable frequency drive sized for the motor. Speed is set by the drive's output frequency.

As with any stone spindle, coolant supply and swarf handling are part of the machine design. Confirm the duty cycle and coolant arrangement for your application before ordering.

Questions

TS-39 or TS-61?

Weight and power. The TS-39 is 3.2 kW and 6.8 kg; the TS-61 is 6.5 kW and 30 kg. If your gantry and Z axis can carry 30 kg and you are taking heavy cuts, the TS-61 is the better tool. Otherwise the TS-39 costs less and loads the machine far less.

Why does the smaller spindle run faster?

It is matched to smaller tooling. A smaller cutter needs higher rpm to reach the same surface speed, so a 3.2 kW spindle is specified to 24000 rpm where the 6.5 kW unit stops at 18000.

What VFD does it need?

A three-phase 380 V drive rated for at least 3.2 kW, configured so its output frequency range covers 10000-24000 rpm.
