Tstep-087 Stepper Driver
Two-phase stepper drive, 18-80 V DC, 1.2-7.0 A jumper selectable, with fixed 10-microstep resolution.
Overview
The Tstep-087 is the fixed-resolution drive in the range: one microstep setting, one job, nothing to configure beyond the current.
It runs from 18-80 V DC with output current set by jumper anywhere from 1.2 A to 7.0 A, covering NEMA 17 through NEMA 23 and many NEMA 34 motors. Resolution is fixed at 10 microsteps rather than selectable, which suits a machine built once and left alone — there is one less setting to get wrong during commissioning, and one less to be found wrong two years later.
Step and direction inputs are optically isolated, keeping the controller's ground out of the motor power loop. Idle current reduction lowers the standing current when the axis is stationary, and short-circuit protection covers a shorted or mis-wired motor lead.
If you need selectable resolution, the Tstep-087X is the same power stage with seven microstep settings. If you need bus control, the Tstep-087-485 adds RS-485.

Is the microstepping really fixed?
Yes — 10 microsteps, not selectable. If you need to choose the resolution, the Tstep-087X offers seven settings on the same power stage.
What does 10 microsteps give me per revolution?
With a standard 200 step per revolution motor, 10 microsteps gives 2000 steps per revolution. Use that figure when setting steps per mm on your controller.
Which Tstep should I choose?
The 087 if the machine is built once and left alone; the 087X if you want selectable resolution; the 087-485 if you want to command it over a bus rather than with pulses.
